Beden does have a German look - telephone directories might confirm this.
There is an entry for Bedin at www.melegnano.net/cognomi. According to this, Bedin in Italy belongs to Vicenza and Padua. The meaning is uncertain, probably a patronymic derived from some obscure Norman or Celtic given name. The name Beda is mentioned. Bedini and Bedino occur elsewhere in Italy.
