KATZENBERG is easy: it is composed of the two German elements "Katze" (cat) and "Berg" (mountain, fortress). It is taken from various place-names in Saxony, Hessen and Austria. What the cat is doing on the mountain, I don't know - maybe the mountain looked like a cat or a cat's head?
