Re: Clithero
Clitheroe is the name of a town in Lancashire. My book suggests a meaning of "song-thrush hill".

Thanks. I already came across this town during my search. Was there any explanation according the meaning you mentioned?
I read in a book about british towns and their meaning that Clitheroe means 'hill with loose stones'. But I'm not sure whether the name
Clithero really is derived from this town's name. I came across it in a book of Charles Brockden Brown. The name was used a a first
name there but while researching I noticed it to be used a a surname as well.
