It is extremely rare in Italy, in fact it is concentrated in SARDINIA, but it is absolutely local.
It could come from the masculine first name Salvatore or from name of places especially for the variant Torelli.
See also the variant Turi, typical of Sicily.

In Italian it is pronounced "tawreh" the final "e" is not silent.
