I'd say an American spelling of Hachelstein, compare Baugh = Bach. It looks like a place name, stein meaning "stone". There is a minor place name, Beim Hachelstein, near Schmalkalden in Thuringia. The "Beim" part suggests that there is, or was, a nearby place called Hachelstein.
