Guzy
I would like to know the origin of the last name Guzy. My family came from somewhere in eastern Europe, but I'm not sure exactly where. They moved to the US because they were Jewish.

This is a Polish surname. It seems to be from the word Guz meaning "lump" or "bump". Guzy is the plural form. Whether the name refers to bumps on a person or in the landscape I couldn't say, but there are also names such as Guzinski and Guzowski that appear to derive from place names.
