I have to find out the history of my last name - Wilensky and I have been to numerous websites and am having no luck in finding anything. Does anyone know of any websites that could help me or that knows what the last name - Wilensky means. The ethnic background is Jewish and my ancestors emmigraed from Russia. Vilensk is the name of a city and a province. It seems that at different times it was part of Poland, Lithuania, and Russia, but I can't find out much about it... Is that because it has a different name nowadays?
