Several names I need help with.
Hey,I have a few family names I'd like to know the origin of:- Kent: This is my surname and originally comes from Waterford, Ireland. My paternal great-great-great-grandfather came from there to Australia in 1853. It's also worth noting that he was one of the Protestant minority, suggesting that maybe there are English ties (Kent doesn't sound very Gaelic to me).- Feeley: My maternal grandmother's maiden name. I'm not certain but I think it could be English.- Nye: My maternal great-grandmother's maiden name. I think his is also English.- Watson: My paternal grandmother's maiden name. Here grandparents were from England.-Hollins: My paternal great-grandmother's maiden name. I'm interested to know more about this name as one of my cousins (who researches our family history) says that we're distantly (like, very distantly) related to Winston Churchill through this family. Thanks a lot for any help you can give me. :)
