Subject: What is the surname 'Street' in Irish?
Author: Street   (guest, 24.22.111.99)

My Irish ancestor came over to Virginia in 1609 as John Streate. It is stated that he was Irish. What would his surname 'Streate' be spelled out in Irish?

In Gaelic, street means 'Sraid' but its different with surnames, right?

Thank you
