Your name comes from greek 'Stefanos' (=Stephanos, Stephen , Steven etc). Please have a look at http://www.behindthename.com for the meaning of 'Stefanos' and its variants in different languages.
Regarding the ending, I suppose that in slavic languages means the
'son of' (a common way to form family names in many languages).
