This surname comes from the masculin first name DOMINGO, a name that is derived from the latin "Dominicus" (blessed by Lord). Such a name is typical of roman catholic countries like FRANCE and ITALY as well.
Besides Dominguez the surnames coming from Doming are several in Spanish.
