Does anyone know what my last name REALLY means? I really want to know....
Well, it's just as I said. My last name is "Buck" and the only thing I know is that it was the name my ancestors had used on the papers at Ellis Island when they came to America from Germany. IDK if "Buck" is my true and ENTIRE last name though. Yeah, because I've been told (yet, because of greedy awful family members, I've NEVER seen) if this is true or not. I asked and asked over and over again, but I've NEVER even got a COPY of it either. Maybe someone here (if you don't mind) can help me... I just want to know who my family/ancestors were. But, if not I understand COMPLETELY. Really. =) It IS a lot to ask someone something as that. lol But, that's all I was wondering. Thank you for your time. =) I appreciate it.

Unless you have strong evidence to the contrary, there's no reason why Buck would have been shortened from something else since it's such a common surname in Germany as you can see at http://www.verwandt.de/karten/absolut/buck.html
