Slous
Does anyone know anything about this name? My grandmother's name is Vanselous, and since Van is Dutch and Slous is the original spelling of Selous (thanks again Jim Young!), I thought I should try to find out where Slous comes from. Could it be from Sluis in the Netherlands? We're all in the gutter, but some of us look at the stars.

Van Sluis is a common Dutch surname as you can see at http://tinyurl.com/29gsx8c. It means 'from Sluis', the name of eight places in Holland and Belgium, and it's almost certainly the origin of Vanselous.
