Reply to: Meaning of surname by Colver
Is this a variant of Colbert (perhaps via Colvert), a patronym based on the first name Colbert, ('Germanic name composed of the elements col, possibly meaning "cool", and beraht, meaning "bright".')?
I think it could be.
