Massive migration of people coming from north Calabria, Sicily or Apulia settled in North-western Italy from the 50ties up to the 70ties last century.
In Calabria and Apulia people used to speak greek dialects up to two centuries ago. Those dialects came from old greek.
In Lecce province greek dialects are still spoken. In Salento region. Iero is a calabrian surname.
