Subject: Russian Surname- Clement or Kliment or Klementowski?
Author: Clement   (guest, 69.161.72.157)

Hello everyone,

I have a problem. I can't even begin my research on my family surname of Clement which my Russian grandfather told me was originally spelled with a "K" and could have been spelled somewhat differently. He just never had the original spelling and it's been so frustrating for me because I can't do anything without the Russian actual name. Where can I find the sources for this type of info?

My great grandparents did come to this country so I wonder what they may have had for documentation. Can anyone think of what I should be looking for that would contain the original spelling please?

Thanks so much!
