ArchivesOrigin of my surname
Please help!I really want to find out what my surname means,and since my surname is really weird(by the way,it's Atanasoff),I can't find it on any surname websites!Please help!!!!

Looks Russian, but my guess is Bulgarian. It's almost certainly from the Greek forename Athanasios, meaning "immortal". Greek TH would become F in Russian, and Athanasios would become Afanasiy(ev). So I'd go for a Bulgarian origin, though not absolutely certain.
