It's Italian.
I know that rossa means red.
but I don't know what my name means.

Sorry Stephanie, but I'm just getting reacquainted with this message board as I was too busy for a stretch.
I would say you are right on with your name meaning though ...the ending, I believe, just denotes a diminutive or rather meaning something like ..."the little" or "descended from" etc.
