I am trying to find out if people ever named their child (first name) after the mother or father using "of" in between such as Rose of Sharon ie. would it mean that Sharon was the mother and Rose was her daughter..thus Rose of Sharon??

Wrong site, but ... Rose of Sharon is one name, coming from (I think) The Song of Solomon, "you are my rose of Sharon and my lily of the valley". Sharon is a place name.
