1. I know 1 Sophie and 3 Sophias, the Sophie is around 40 and the Sophias are 27, 3 and 18 mos.
2. I consider it popular, but its too much of a classic to be trendy. In Chicago, where I live, I think its in the top 10 in girl names, and I know its also very high nationwide.
3. Other names that are popular in my area - Isabel/lle/lla; Aidan; Jack; Charles (nn Charlie); Olivia; Madeleine (and variations); and Katherine/Kathleen with nn Katie. I know or know of at least two of each of these, all in kids under 5. Charlie and the Isabel variations are the most popular.
