So I have decided I like Margaret better than Margareta...
I know someone with the nickname of Markie for Margaret...wdyt? (although I believe if I were to have a child by the name Margaret I would see which nickname fits her best)
Also, pick one:
Margaret Reese (Reese is my grandmother's maiden name)
Margaret Blue/Bleu/Blau (Blau is my middle name)
Margaret Franziska (Frankziska after my grandfather Frank)
Margaret Jane/Harriet (after my Opa Johann Heinrich "Harry"
Margaret Ingeborg (Ingeborg after my Oma)
Margaret Anne/Anna/Hannah (after me, my mother, and my Opa)

I don't like the nn at all. My favorite choice is Margaret Anne.

I've never heard Markie as a nn for Margaret.
I know a Margaret who was always called Margie (mar-GEE) by her family but hated it and now goes by Maggie.
I prefer Maggie as a nn.
Anyway, I think I like Margaret Anna the best out of your options.

Markie: maybe it works on one person; I can see how it's cute. But I agree with you, I'd have to wait and see if it works on a different Margaret. It's the kind of nick you can't really force. And there are so many great nicknames for Margaret, it would be fun to let the right one find her. Markie does remind me a little of Marky Mark, on paper anyway.
I like Margaret Jane, Margaret Franziska, and Margaret Georgia. If you are in the US, I'd use Margaret Inge instead of Ingeborg; I like that too. Also - Margaret Johanna.

Markie is alright as a nn, but I think that it's a great idea to see which nn suits her. I know a girl named Markie (that is her full first name) who is very sweet so I have good associations. I also really like Maggie and Greta as nn's. I think that Margaret Franziska is very pretty.

I like Margaret Reese and Margaret Hannah the best. I think Markie would be a cute nn. Have recently heard of Greta as a nn for Margaret and think that is cute too.
