Message: "Marina?" - Behind the Name

Dh and I love the combo Isabel Marina, but I was thinking how pretty Marina would be as a first name too. I'm just a little hesitant because of the teasing potential.

What are your opinions?

Please go with Marina! It's lovely, and Isabel is so overused right now. Marina Isabel sounds great.

No offence but it reminds me of the TV show Stingray (if you haven't seen it, think an underwater version of Thunderbirds). It's a nice name though, I say if you like it then go for it.

Its a beautiful name, when I hear it I think of Princess Marina the Duchess of Kent who died in 1968
Isabel Marina is nice but I prefer Marina Isabel myself

Marina is very pretty but I think I prefer it as a middle name. Isable Marina is very pretty also.

I don't really see what teasing potential Marina has ... It's as pretty as Isabel, minus the problem of overuse.

I've just had a few friends comment on how they automatically think of a boat dock when they hear the name.

We really don't care how popular Isabel gets, we will always love it.

I don't think she would get teased at all and Marina is less common than Isabel which is a plus, but Isabel is pretty too.

I adore the name Isabel Marina! My dh and I have considered that name too, although I'm not sure now that I would want to use it since I've seen several other people mention the same combo in the last few weeks, and Isabel seems to be getting so popular.

I love Marina as a first name, too.. maybe I'm slow but I can't think of why it would have much teasing potential (I mean, I can think of things, but nothing that I think is very obvious to little kids..)
