[Opinions] Tigerlily and Finn
I know what most of you will think of Tigerlily...but humor me, will you?
WDYTO Tigerlily. I love it. I think Tiger would be a cute nickname, but I think it's best suited as a middle name.
Can you think of any combos? I like names like Matilda, Margaret, Marie, Gretchen, and Jillian. Also, wdyto the nickname Finn. I would like a longer name for it...which is your favourite?
thanks!

Tigerlily is cute, but Judge Tigerlily XXX or Minister Tigerlily XXX is just laughable, so no...
Matilda and Gillian are great. Margaret and Marie are nice classics. Gretchen reminds me of the German stereotype (a fat, blonde girl). As for Finn (which is nmsaa), what about Phineas, Finley...?

I played Tigerlily in a play when I was seven so it holds a special place in my heart. :) It's a cute name-one I would never use in real life. But the late Michael Hutchence of Inxs DID use it-his daughter was Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily I believe and they call her Tiger! Cute for a celebrity child.

I love the name Tigerlily and I think you should be brave and use it as a first name. I also love Matilda (my daughters middle name)- it might be nice as Tigerlilys middle name. I dont think you should use just Lily as it is pretty common, but sweet.
Finn is also gorgeous and I like Finnegan as the long version

Tigerlily for me is one of my guilty pleasures, I guess :) It goes against my personal rules for naming, but it's so... lovely!Finn, by the way, always a good choice. I love Finn.

Layla Tigerlily - don't know if there are too many l's though!
Rachel Tigerlily
Samantha Tigerlily
Sophia TigerlilyI don't like Finn, or any Finn name, sorry!

I can live with Tigerlily. It's too precious for my taste but it's not obnoxious. The nn Tiger on a girl, however, is sort of obnoxious to me, unless it's spontaneously bestowed by her daddy or somesuch. I'd call her Lily.Gretchen Tigerlily and Jillian T. are the best combos with TL as a mn.
As a fn, Tigerlily Margaret, T. Marie, T. Matilda.Finn is nice. I like Finley .. most straightforward of the Fin- names. Or just Finn is okay, if you don't mind it sounding like 'person of Finnish descent.' - chazda

it makes me think of 'Peter Pan'

Tigerlily itself has Peter Pan heavily tied to it. But Tiger itself, for me, is in the same category as Panda (despite it being in database!), Leopard, Dog, or Monkey. I just wouldn't name a child it, sorry. As a nn Tiger's alright, and as I love the name Lily I agree with Eden that Lily nn Tigerlily would be good.Finn reminds me of fish's fins. It's nms, but it's OK for someone else. I like the name Finley best as a full name for it.Miranda

Tigerlily is best suited as a nickname, I think. I think a little girl named Lily with the nickname Tigerlily would be adorable. My son's name is Finley and his nickname is Finn.
