It's not hard to see in Latin that the name Albin is connected to the color white. My question is more about the geographical origin of the name. I have seen references stating that it is Scandinavian and/or Polish and others that place it as English... and when used as a surname, it apparently relates to Spanish/Italian place names.
Does the name have a very clear beginning in any particular region?
I have been studying my family's genealogy in the US, and it might be helpful to know if the name was used frequently in England or if it was confined to another part of the world. Of the four ancestors I know of having that name, they were all male, and their ancestry appears to be English.
Thanks
