like sonny for a boy, on a girl it seems a bit flimsy. could be short for Alexandra or Sunita though. maybe you could use it as a mn and choose a completely different fn. My friends daughters full name is Xanthe Bee but she has always been known as bee. David Duchovny does that with his kids too i think. Let me know how this idea grabs you. it would save settling for a name you dont like that much just for the nn. you could always just have her full name Sonni if you like it that much.

How about Sunniva?

A soap opera I watched when I was in junior high had a character named Solita called Sonni or Sunny.

I don't care for Sonnet. I think of poetry. I don't care for it, but I suggest Sonia as a formal name, with Sonni as a nickname. But, I don't think the decisions of a formal name revolve around a nickname.

Maybe, Cassandra, or Sandra, idk, Sonnet's kinda cute, or use it as a middle name but call her by Sunny.
