[Opinions] Angela
I have been liking this name a lot lately. I think it's very pretty, not overly frilly like Angelina and Angelica (though I like those too-just can't imagine someone going by the full forms of them). I like the nickname Angie too. What are your thoughts on this name?

I like Angela because it has sort of faded from popularity. It has a familiar slightly nostalgic feel to it but doesn't seem outdated or ever overly popular.

I like it a lot. I had a cousin through marriage named Angela who died from breast cancer at 34 so it is a special name to me

I don't care for it. I prefer Angelina.

For some reason I've always loved the name Angelo but not Angela. I guess it's because of the bad association I have with an Angie. With out the bad association I think that name is great.

Angela is my mother's mn and I would use it as a mn as well to honor her, with a fn that DH and I had picked out. I know a nice woman my age named Angela too, so no bad associations there. Now, Audrey on the other hand - great name, but....

I know two Angela's...1) about 23ish now, my brothers first girlfriend. She was a bit of a well...not apportiate to state my true feelings, but I didnt like her too much. She now has 2 or 3 kids, working as in a dentist office as a secretary2) went by Angie, a friends cousin, now about 18, but when I knew her, she wasnt all that nice of a little girl...again, kind of like my brothers first girlfriendTherefore, I dont like it...both were similar, so whenever I hear the name I will think of that sort of personality and not be too impressed.

I feel the same way- it's a shame that names can be tainted just from knowing a couple of not-very-nice people- but that's always going to happen- atleast we don't all know the same people1

I think it's a pretty name, but Angie takes away from that
