[Opinions] Randall
I know most of the people on this bored are not fans of boys names of girls. But what do you think of Randall on a girl? Cute? Horrible?
Could you see it on a cute little baby girl? Thanks

I don't particularly see it as a boys' nameI see it very much as a surname, and it actively sounds surname-y. I couldn't use it on either gender, as it sounds like you're addressing the person by their surname, which is usually quite abrupt and impersonal.

Oh, goodness, no! I don't care for Randall for a boy, but it's atrocious for a girl!

I really hate Randall on a girl. Don't even like it for a boy actually, but that's beside the point. I have known some Randi's and Kendall's that were girls...that's the most I can handle.

Ugh!!!!!! Maybe (and I mean that in the slightest way) I could stand Randene or Miranda w/ the nn Randi.:)

Horrible, and not cute at allRandall's a surname, yes, but it was also the everyday form of Randolph in the Middle Ages. Can you imagine naming your daughter Randolph?I much prefer Miranda (hehe), Brandy, or even Branda.Miranda

well....I can't picture Randall as a first name, it's Sean's last name so I can only picture it as a last name. On a girl..... not a first name

Personally I think it is Great for a boy horrible for a girl but surnames on girls are trendy at the moment so a little girl with this name wouldnt be that shocking and at least it doesnt have a 'son of' meaning

If you like "Randi" for a girl, I know a girl named Miranda who goes by Randi.

Well, Randall's a surname name before it's a masculine name, and so is Kendall. People seem to really go for Kendall on a girl (although I personally am utterly blind to its appeal), so why not Randall, right? Nickname Randie is cute (in the US anyway) and has been used for various names containing 'rand.' Or Randa, like for Miranda. At least she'd have options. To me, a girl Randall would be weird. Very weird. So is Kendall. I wouldn't quite cringe at it, but I'd heave a sigh. It seems cold on a girl, at least until I have a chance to get used to it; I suppose I could if I knew a girl with the name. - chazda
