I think it is a personal thing with what the parents want. It was very popular in the 1900s to give twins these kind of names. I have noticed some parents are shying away from it lately. I myself think it is fun to hear twinny names and I believe some twins enjoy being a twin and having these simular twinny type names.
The other day I remembered another set of twins I knew years ago named GiGi and Bobbi. They were hungarian and I don't know what their full names were but I think the nns GiGi and Bobbi are cute twinny names. Not too much alike but catchy.
