My name is Heather and all I can think of when I hear Hedda is that it sounds like a young child with a speech impediment (and perhaps from NYC?) saying my name. :)

I kind of like it.

I don't care for the name. Nor did I like Henrik Ibsen's play, Hedda Gabler. A Doll House was so much better!

I don't like it. It sounds a bit, uh, man-ish. It also makes me think of Hedda Hopper. I believe she was a celebrity back in the 20's or 30's.

I'm afraid I predict exactly what teenagers would think of a name that so obviously contained the word "head". *Sigh*

I like both Hedda and the full form, Hedvig. Hedvig to me is more fragile, more delicate, while Hedda would make a wonderful nn for a tomboy. Great names!

I would like it if it weren't prone to teasing because of sounding like "head of".

Edda would perhaps be a little less prone to teasing. Ebba would be even better imo. Hilda, Hertha or Eartha, Ethel, and Enid have the same sort of flavour as Hedda too to me.
