[Opinions] Re: Charlotte, Beatrice, Elinor and Rudolph
in reply to a message by alice
Charlotte - Pretty but overused ... I prefer Charlotta (shar-LAW-tuh).
Beatrice - Lovely, as long as it's pr'd BEE-a-triss, not BEE-triss which sounds unattractive imo. I also love Betrys, BEH-triss.
Elinor nn Nell maybe - Hmmm ... Out of loyalty I should like it, and I do *kind of*, but it isn't a real favourite. In a medieval list somewhere I came across the spelling Elynor which I prefer. I also love Eleanora (EL-ee-a-NOHR-a).
Rudolph nn Rudy (after the ballet dancer) - In my cultural ignorance :-p, I think of the red-nosed reindeer not the ballet dancer, and unfortunately I think most people (especially kids in the playground) would as well. Rudy is cute, even if it emphasises the "rude" part of the name.
