I really like the name Karl, and while I like Paul, and I think it's great to use naming traditions, Karl Paul doesn't work. Karlton Paul does, though. Karl Paolo doesn't work, either.
As for other names, you could use other P middle names, to honor Paul. I suggest Karl Patrick.
