[Facts] Re: origin and signification of Nyah
in reply to a message by Barbara
Norah, who hangs out here, is good on Irish names and may be able to confirm whether "Nyah" has any roots in the old sod. I somehow doubt it's of Irish origin though, and am more inclined to believe it hails from Asian regions. Especially seeing as how the character who bore that name in *M:I-2* appeared to be of Eurasian descent.
I'd try some message boards set up for discussions of *M:I-2* if I were you. Surely there must be some people on those boards who liked the character of Nyah so much that they set out on a quest to find out what her name means. If you find out, then come back here and let us know! :)

it means Greek goddess of the sea - or flowing river.
It is also hebrew for grandmother.
The name in MI 2 is of Greek origin.
It is also a Chinese name however I do not have their meaning of the name.
