[Opinions] Re: Also...nicknames for Margaret.
in reply to a message by Siri
I don't care for Margaret (I don't like the sound of it) or Helen (I think Helena is much prettier), but Margaret Helen does flow better than Helen Margaret (Helena Margaret flows, though). I know a Margaret (20-years-old) who goes by Maggie, because she hates her name. I don't think nicknames should be planned, but left up to the child, and if you don't like the name, but she does, then so be it. But, Maggie works, and you could try Meg or Marg. I like Margo as a formal name. I have a question: why does your family demand a nickname?

Who knows. Each of kids have a nickname. I don't have a formal one, but within the family I'm known as Favy. There are tons of silly nicknames, too. Isaac was nicknamed Ikey, and it stuck. Much to his mother's dismay. Mira has never been called Miranda since the day she was born. Even my baby niece, Brianna, was nicknamed Bria.I don't know why I love Margaret or Helen as much as I do. I just find them timeless, beautiful, with lots of amazing namesakes. Lots of people don't-which is another plus.Siri
