[Opinions] Seth
So I've been trying to find more S names that I like so as to make some combo's with the initials S.M. And the only other boys' S name besides Samuel (which isn't going well with my other current favorites at the moment) that I really like enough is Seth. What do you think of Seth? Good? Bad?And what do you think of these combos?Seth Mitchell
Seth Michael
Seth Maximilian- Ok so Maximilian wouldn't be honoring anyone but I do so love the name.
Seth Marion
Seth MarvinAny other suggestions?Thanks,Jamie

Why do you want the initials S.M.? I don't like it when parents revolved the formal name decision over a nickname(s), and now I can add I don't like it when parents revolve the formal name decision over initials. I think more time should be spent in finding the perfect formal name, and not because a nickname may be cute or the initials are "cool" (or for whatever reason). I like Samuel; I don't care for Seth (I think it's choppy, with the th ending). For ther S names, like Samory, Shawn (that spelling only), Spencer, Stanley, and Steven. From your middle names, I like Michael.

I want the initials S.M. because those were my mother's initials and she's now deceased. So if I end up having only boys then there is really no other way to honor her except with initials.Edit: To add that I would only use those initials for ONE child. I don't want all my children to have the same intials. I honestly don't care much about initials from a purely naming sense, unless they spell something bad. I'm really not even someone who has to have first and middle names that flow great, honoring someone or using family names is more important in my opinion.

I understand now...I didn't know that was the reason, and I'm sorry if I came off as mean or anything. Since it's to honor your mother, then I'm all for it. I didn't know if it was for a naming theme, or if you just liked the nickname S.M. or something. Although, I do think the flow is more important, personally, but there's always away around that, and it would still honor the person, like keeping the first initial, using a different form of the name, or just changing around the order of the first and middle name. That's just my opinion, though.

It's no problemI think I understand what you were saying before. I knew a couple who named their child Andrew James just so they could call him AJ. To me that seems like a total waste. I only think initial nicknames should be used in cases where it's to distinguish the child, such as when he's named after his father or another family member. Or if the child itself later chooses to go by his initials. So I do know what you mean about building around initials. Right now the initial idea is just that an idea. It's not set in stone. Just something I'm considering if I have all boys. And I wouldn't use an S name just for the initial reason. I would have to love the name as well. Basically I would just use the middle name because of that reason. And I have more than enough time to figure out a naming plan. And who knows, my first child could end up being a girl and I could honor my mother with the middle name spot and wouldn't even have to worry about this. And I didn't think you were mean or anything. I do know understand your problem with themes. I dislike themes as well. :)
