This is my daughter Anne Cecilia (Anne):
You Say: What a lovely name!
You think: The only thing I would've done differently would be to call her Nan--nice work. Thank God the poor girl's not an Annie.
This is my daughter Sylvie Aurelia (Sylvie):
You Say: How nice! Sylvie was my name in French class.
You think: Love it, love it, love it!
This is my daughter Vivien Margaux (Vivie):
You Say: That's a beautiful name.
You think: I prefer Vivienne, Vivi, and Margo (the faux French spelling rubs me the wrong way), but they all sound nice, just the same.
This is my daughter Camille Josephine (Camille):
You Say: How nice to meet you, Camille.
You think: Couldn't care less about Camille, but oh, Josephine...happy memories of the March family saga are floating through my brain.
This is my daughter Louisa Claire (Louisa):
You say: What a nice name! Louisa May Alcott's one of my favourite authors.
You think: Ever so beautiful. Hate the spelling of Claire--it's Clare for either sex and Clair for a boy for me--but it's a lovely sound.
