Help[Opinions] I'm pregnant with twin girls
Hi I've been combing the message boards to get ideas for the two twin girls I'm pregnant with these past few days. We made it to the three week mark so we are begining to tell our family and friends. I'm very excited and I want them to both have beautiful names! I'm not too into traditional names such as Sara or Ashley but nothing to out there like Jezabel or Heaven either! These are some names my husband and I have come up with. Please let us know what you think- and if you have any ideas that would be wonderful as well.

Congratulations. That's great. I never tell anyone until I am 3 months pregnant either. I like to hear the heartbeat, talk to the midwife, and be sure everything is ok until I share the news. How do you know the sex already??? They can't tell until 20 weeks, that is 4 months.
I like a lot of your names (except Savannah). I would add Caroline to the list(my favorite). I like Caroline and Charlotte or Caroline and Cassandra or Carolina and Cassandra (Cara and Cassie).

One more question. My husband loves the name Chloe. I'm afriad this is rather trendy. What do you all think?

If you are concerned about trendiness, in terms of being popular at a specific time in living memory and "dating" a person, I think you should worry as much about Grace and Sophia, as about Chloe. All of them are moderately trendy to me, but not bad. The most trendy on your list imo are Elle, Sydney, and Addison. Your taste is nice; I think all the names you have picked out are nice, except Elle which seems too plain, and Addison, which is just awful to me. It's not just fashionable -- it's faddish, and in my opinion, doomed to rapid obscurity.
Charlotte and Claudia are the least trendy on your list, imo, as well as being my particular favorites. Those are the ones I'd use for twins. Charlotte and Chloe would be lovely also.

I apologize I meant three months not three weeks..I dont even believe I knew I was pregnant three weeks in! We are past three months its been almost 4.
My maiden name is Noel so I believe Noelle would be a good choice for one of the girls. I really love Audrey, Charlotte, Grace, and Sophie. I love Sophia. I need to think of some middle names. I am certain one of the girls will be named Noelle.

Amore thank you so much for replying. I think the names you picked are just beautiful. I really wanted to include Grace and I love Charlotte as a middle name as well however I don't think Noelle Charlotte flows as well. Sophia Grace may be a for sure one though. I'm calling my husband/mother as I type to see what they think!

It does have a heartbeat at about 22 days (that's a little over three weeks). You just can't hear it until much later.
The heart is actually the first organ to develop (logically, since cells need blood to grow). It starts off as a few unbeating cells at about 16 or 17 days. At about 22 days, the very primitive heart starts to beat very slowly and very erratically; as the organ starts forming into a recognisable heart, the heartbeats become faster and more and more stable.
Before birth, a valve called the ductus arteriosus is closed in order to shunt most blood away from the lungs (since the lungs are unused in utero, and hence only need a little blood for nutrition). Thus, the heart is not fully developed until after birth, when the infant's first breaths triggers the ductus arteriosus to start closing, thereby allowing blood to access the lungs that are now needed. Full closure may be instantaneous, or it may take a few days. The closure is usually complete enough right after birth to cause the child no problems, though.
If valve doesn't close, it's a birth defect known as Persistent Ductus Arteriosus or Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). It's more common in premature babies, because they're so undeveloped. It is correctable with a relatively minor operation.
