[Opinions] Emerson
I really love the name Emerson for a girl, I have for quite some time. But I have never been able to come up with a great combo. I am starting to like Emerson as a mn as well as a fn, but still, no great combos. Please, dont comment on whether or not you like the name, but what combos you think flow. I ask you to put aside your likes or hatred for a name. I am open to suggestions, if suggesting a first name, please use less girly names, possible more classic that is out to date. Thank you.Combos I have thought of over the years:Emerson Rae (too male)
Emerson Sky (again, feel its a little too male, and I want to use Skylar)
Emerson Charlene (or Charlotte, but prefer Charlene, family name)
Emerson Chloe
Zandra Emerson
Annika Emerson
Austin Emerson
Danika Emerson (Dani)
Emerson Gabrielle
Hazel Emerson
Emerson Kendra
Emerson Lane (again, to male)
Noelle Emerson or Emerson Noelle
Emerson Zoe

I've always liked Emerson Rose. With more unisex / surname type names I definitely think you should pair them with a really feminine mn to make the gender clear.

I like Emerson Noelle and Emerson Gabrielle the best out of the Emerson fn combos. I prefer Annika and Noelle over Emerson for a girl though.

I like it best as a middle name-Noelle Emerson is nice. I just see this name as becoming trendy, especially with the constant references to Teri Hatcher's daughter, Emerson Rose. I hate when they use celebrity children's full names-as if the kid walks around being called Emerson Rose! Anyway, it's an okay name, pretty masculine.

I absolutely love Emerson Rose!!! If you use Emerson as a first name, you need to go with a one syllable, feminine middle name. I don't really like Emerson as a middle name. I like the nn Emme. I also like:Emerson Rose #1
Emerson Jane
Emerson Grace
Emerson Belle
Emerson May
Emerson Leigh

OK...I'm putting aside my dislike for the name Emerson for a girl... From your other names, I like Alexandra (with Zandra as a nickname). I prefer Austin for a boy only, and the other names aren't my style. Flow wise, I think Emerson Lane (but it's much too masculine for a girl) and Annika Emerson flow the best from your list. I have a feeling Emerson will become even more trendy, now that Teri Hatcher is popular on the TV show Desperate Housewives, as Emerson is Hatcher's daughter's name - Emerson Rose.Edit: Deleted word.

I love Emerson on a girl! It's one of the few names where I can get past the whole "'-son' means masculine thing" (like I'd never use Madison on a girl). Plus it's my mother's maiden name and she has only sisters, so I always thought it'd be a great way to carry on the name.Anyhow, I've also had trouble coming up with middle names that flow well, but here're some I've been tinkering with:Emerson Grace
Emerson Elise
Emerson Alexia (or Alexis, my mn)
Emerson Ryann (probably too male-sounding)
Emerson Catharine
Emerson Rebeccaand I love Emerson Chloe and Emerson Charlotte from your list.Hope this helps!~ Casey

I think that if I was going to use it (and I wouldn't, but for a boy, and only after my favourite transcendentalist), I would use Emerson Lyra or Emerson Lyric--or possibly Emerson Mireille. As a middle name (I'd tolerate it more there, because it's a middle name and you're thus allowed to do whatever you like with it), I think it'd go well with either a very short or a very long first name. Marie Emerson, Violet Emerson, Eloise Emerson, Coralie Emerson. In either case, I'd use a very feminine name to go with it, and preferably a feminine name with some history and meaning to me. And so I'd probably end up using something like Paulina / Pauline Emerson or Coralie Emerson, or I'd use Emerson Mira, Emerson Ruth, or Emerson Lisette.Array
