[Opinions] Scottish Names I Would Use...WDYT
DD: Isla Isobel
DD: Skye McKenna
DS: Finn LachlanMy name is Lisa and the Scottish guy I like is named Sean, so that's why they are all four letter names. WDYT? I think Isla is pretty, Isobel is the Scottish form of Isabelle (family name), Skye is nice for a girl (something I could live with), I have always loved McKenna but it's too popular now for a first name, I love the name Finnian but since that wouldn't fit with the other names I shortend it to Finn and I always loved the name Lachlan.

I'm Scottish and I love the names Ishbel, Marsaili (rhmes with parsley) Eilidh (pn AY-ley), and Fiona for girls.

I like Isla. Skye looks trendy, Isobel is misspellt to me, and McKenna is a boy name and trashy on a girl imo. Finn Lachlan is ok but nms.

Hi, my boyfriend is from Scotland too. :-)I really like Isla Isobel! it looks like a beautiful combination. Skye is pretty too, but it does sound trendy and people might not understand the reference to the Scottish island.Sarena x

DD: Isla Isobel - really beautiful
DD: Skye McKenna - way too trendy looking
DS: Finn Lachlan - great but ... it sounds a bit like a 'scot-stereotype' if you know what I meanI like the shortness and simplicity of all the names :)alice x

I love Isla (prefer the spelling Islay - it's pr'd the same though), Skye and Finn. I also like Lochlann in that spelling. There is a very strong Scottish tradition of using the mother's maiden name as a middle name for the firstborn child. You see it at least 50% of the time in the Birth Announcements I read. For that reason, I find McKenna confusing as a mn if it *isn't* I family name. My surname is MacKenna, so I'm biased towards that spelling :-)

heh...I usually read it MacKenna when I see it and sometimes type it that way, because the "mc" spelling looks Irish. It will always be a surname to me.-Seda*

Isla Isobel -nms
Skye McKenna -like Skye. James and I own a house there because it's a good spot for photography and that's what he does. McKenna is too surname-y because of the "Mc" all I see is "Son of.."
Finn Lachlan -love it! Love Lachlan; love finn(but Finn is not Scottish).

I love your names, they are beautiful. Isobel is exactly how i like it spelt and Isla is gorgeous. i am not sure how well thy go together though. I have a friend named Isla and her mn is Marie if that helps. I think all your other choices work well. they are lovely (although McKenna is nmsaa).

I love Isla, obviously (it's not my real name but it's my favorite girl's name), but it seems a bit "I" heavy with Isobel. My fav. combos with it are Isla Camille and Isla Maeve, but those mn's aren't Scottish, obviously. Do you like Elspeth? I don't know that it goes very well with Isla, but it's something to consider--Elspeth is the Scottish form of Elizabeth, and Isabelle is a form of Elizabeth. I love Finn Lachlan. I don't care for Skye McKenna at all, though, sorry. Skye might be ok as a mn, but McKenna is too trendy imo. Suggestions:
(girls)
Iona
Edme - Scottish form of Esme
Sine
Fenella, Lorna, Mairead, Maisie - I know they're not 4 letters, but maybe as a mn?(boys)

DD: Isla Isobel~ I adore Isla. I love Isobel, but I don't like it pronunced like Isabel. Together, they sound nice.
DD: Skye McKenna~ WAY too trendy for me. I had a parakeet named Skye, and I think the name fits best on a pet.
DS: Finn Lachlan~ It doesn't flow at all. Finlay Lachlan sounds a little better. As it is, there's too much N and it sounds far too clipped.Patterns are for quilts, not for baby names. I wouldn't worry about how many letters are in a name--it seems silly.Array

I like the name Isabelle (that spelling only).Did you choose those first names, aside from them being Scottish, but because they had four letters? Sorry, but I don't agree with that, as I think there are better ways to honor parents within the names, and it's the start of a naming theme. Sorry if that offends you.
