[Opinions] Jane.
I was talking to Ken, and we both like the name Jane. Its not popular, and hasn't been for quite some time. I like it, even if its plain. What middle names would you guys pair? Opinions on it? She would be called Jane, not Janie.Siri

I LOVE the name Jane with the nickname of Janie. I think Jane is a very pretty name

I hate it, sorry. It is far too plain.

Processed “cheese”. The word should always, like Soviet “democracy”, be framed in quotes, for no matter what the law may say, I refuse to call this cheese

Although it isn't overused on babies now, it's been overused for so long that it still has a very generic feel to it. Nmsaa. However, I'd rather see it as a fn than a mn (in the UK, Jane and Louise are the most common "filler" middle names, equivalent to US Grace and Marie). I definitely think it needs a long-ish, unusual mn:Jane Eirian (EYE-ree-an)
Jane Eliana
Jane Arabella
Jane Sapphire
Jane Charmian (KAR-mee-an)

Jane is lovely, I really like it. I've always liked the combos Jane Augusta and Jane Emina, but those may not be your style at all :-)

I don't think any name is plain!I like Jane. It's so sweet and simple, and it'll suit any age. Also, I don't think nicknames should (or in this case, shouldn't) be planned. What if she wants to be called (by you and friends) Janie? You're going to say "no"? Anyway, I suggest Jane Meredith.

I love Jane, and the nickname Janey (though not Janie, oddly enough), but I can see wanting her simply to be Jane. I think it has a chance of becoming the next Grace (popular as both a first and middle name), at least among intelligent parents-to-be. I see it a lot on poncier name boards, though I haven't seen too many people who've used it for anything but a first name.I loved Jane Aida for quite a while, back when I was in my Janey-is-AWESOME phase. (Said phase was in the middle of my Daria phase, and I suppose the connection is clear, heh.) Jane Francesca, perhaps? Anything that's three syllables or more (preferably stressed on the second syllable) would sound fine to my ears. Jane Nicolette? Jane Eliana? Jane Amarante? This is a great name for you two--not only because you both love it but because you can use the "She needs an exciting middle name to go with something like Jane!" argument. ;)Array

Yay! Someone else likes Jane. It's pretty and simple and (these days) unusual. Nancy Jane is one of my top 3 girls combos, but I like it as a fn too. I'd probably look for something a little more unusual and longer in a mn, just to balance it out.Jane Miranda is the first thing that comes to mind...
Jane Theresa
Jane Audrey
Jane Celeste (I like this a lot)
Jane Philomena
Jane Matilda
Jane Alexandra (I like this too)~ Caitlín

Oooh, I like Jane Audrey (sounds too much like Jane Austen?), Jane Celeste, and Jane Matilda. Not a huge Jane fan, but it's not bad at all. What about...
Jane Margaret - simple but classic
Jane Augusta - again, too much like Jane Austen? (maybe I just like Jane Austen too much, lol)
Jane Honora
Jane Estella
Jane Isolde
Jane Elspeth - too Scottish for Jane?
Jane Araminta - too frilly for Jane?
Jane Violet
