It's feminine and I looked up once on another sight that it meant "from noble birth". I believe the ethnic background is English but I'm not quite sure. ((my name is pronouced like the spelling Alicia, or a-lee-sha))

Alyshia (or Alicia) derives from Alice, and yes it is a English name in origin, it means truth, noble,

It's a variant of Alicia (like are Alisha or Allycia).
Your parents were probably being creative.
So, it means the same as Alicia.
