But I am happy to se that atleast you love your name like me and so you want to know the meaning for the same. any way here i will try to explain some about the name which is known to me. As you are aware that this is the name of Buddhas son. and real meaning is " conqueror of all miseries " This is actuly i think correct meaning of the my name.
I also some what agree that this name is somehow related to Sun but I dont have any strong documents in which I will confirm.

You've probably done a 'net search on this name already and found that various websites only give the definition: "Son of Lord Buddha". Although Gautama Buddha did have a son named "Rahul", this isn't the literal meaning of the name but rather a historic reference.According to *The Penguin Book of Hindu Names* by Maneka Gandhi, the entry for the name "Radula" (a form of "Radul") gives the following:1. "able"; "efficient"; "given by Rahu"2. "Fetter"3. "the son of Suddhodana"; "a son of Guatama Buddha"-- Nanaea

the word RAHUL is originated from the sanskrit 'dhatu' (verb=dhatu in sanskrit) "ruh" - meaning the soul.title RAHUL is given to a person who can understand the souls(feelings) of others.

correction"...the entry for the name "Radula" (a form of "Radul")..."That should be "Rahula" -- not "Radula". Typo!-- Nanaea
