I have a unique perspective on this name. It's mine.
Growing up, I wanted to spell it Anne because it looked more French and sophisticated. But the Ann spelling was the one Catholics generally used in the 60's so that's what my parents gave me. (Or so they tell me.)
Now I like both equally. I appreciate the simplicity of the Ann spelling. I think the Anne spelling is more common now, so that may be easier for a dd to live with.
