[Facts] old english suffix
I'm trying to find the meaning of a "made-up" name with old english parts. However, I am at a loss at what the suffix "-den" means. Does anyone know?ana

Hello Ana,in most cases -den means "valley".When the suffix originally was -don instead of -den (Brandon - Branden), it means "hill"Sometimes, when the names are forms of Old Norse names (e.g. Old English Alden from Old Norse Halvdan or Old English Denby from Old Norse Danby), the suffix/prefix means "Dane".Regards, Satu
