The name Lindsay, in all spellings, is painfully popular among my peers (late teens in Scotland). Lindsay is the most popular spelling, then Lindsey, Lyndsay, Lyndsey, Lynsey, Lynsay, Linsey, Linsay, Linzi ... the list goes on and on. My spelling of choice would be Lyndsey.
(With Lindsay and Lindsey, there is no "original spelling", because both forms are found as surnames.)
