What do you think of Angela? I've been liking it a lot lately.

I know Angelina and Angelica are considered more in-style right now. And I like those too but I'm finding Angela's simplicity and decline in popularity more refreshing. I know it was rather popular in the 70's and 80's and hardly heard for children now but still it doesn't sound dated to me.

A side note, all the Angela's I've ever known went by Angie. Which I think is a cute nickname and one I could live with but I rather like Angela in full. WDYT?

I don't like it, no reason really it just seems a bit plain although I do tend to go for the more simpler names

I prefer Angelique, Angelica or Angeline :)

it's great!

I love it!! I like it way better Angelina or Angelica. I dislike the nn Angie though. It sounds whiney to me...

I've been liking it a lot also. It's so pretty and I like the nickname Angie too. Angelina is pretty but too frilly for me. A friend of mine had a daughter named Angeline and I've always loved that as well.

I know atleast 6 differnet Angelas who are still young children.. thats alot to know when your my age! I like Angelina.. personally but Angela's a cute name too!

My great great great grandmother was called Angela nn Angele. She was a Sephardic Jew born around 1850 in Saloniki. Her maiden name, that I find particularly gorgeous, was Mazaltov.

So yeah, I like the name. :)

Angelina is cute, and so are Angelique and Angie.

Angela is okay but I have always preferred Angelina, I tend to like longer versions of names over short ones

I agree with you about the simplicity of Angela. I think it deserves a second look by current parents to be.
