The South Slavic female name Stana has nothing in common with Arabic. The radix Slavic, the same as it is in "stay", e.g.The name Stana is actually too short for a Slavic name. So, there are several options:-> Stana is a female abbreviation for Constantin. Other possible translation of Constantin is Stoyan (f. Stoyana). This option is to be excluded for Muslim people.-> Stana is an abbreviation for Dostana (enough children, or enough daughters).-> Stana is an abbreviation for Stanislava ("let the glory stay", masculine Stanislav).-> Stana is an abbreviation for Stanimira ("let the peace stay", masculine Stanimir).Stanka, Stanimirka etc. are diminutive forms for Stana, Stanimira, correspondingly.
