[Opinions] Marieke
I have a friend named Marieke (her father is Dutch), and this morning I heard another friend use the nn Kiki. WDYTO Marieke? What about the nn Kiki?I like Marieke a lot (I like many of the -ke pet names: Anneke, Janneke, Silke, etc), but I'm not so sure about the nn Kiki. It seems frilly and slightly annoying to me...like a name Paris Hilton would give a little dog. ~ Caitlín

I think Marieke is nice but I don't care for any of the other -ke names. And I agree Kiki sounds like the name of a dog, probably because I've known a few canine Kiki's in my life.

I like Marieke a lot too, I once named one of my dolls Marieke... I've heard the nn Kiki being used for Marieke once before. I think Kiki is cute on a little girl, but not on an adult...~Lully Lulla~
