I know this name is really trendy right now, not quite Aidan level or trendy but trendy still. But it's really growing on me, despite how surname-y it is.

I do dislike that it's now occasionally used as a nickname for Braden (a name I really dislike). And odd but I don't like Brody which sounds very similar.

What do you think of Brady? Like it? Or no? Besides The Brady Bunch (nothing against the show personally) and how trendy it is, any other bad associations or reasons you can think of?

I'm exactly the opposite: I love Brody, but dislike Brady! Both are pretty surname-y sounding, but I think they work fairly well as a fn. If you really like Brady, go ahead & use it! I'd been planning on naming DD Victoria since I was in Jr. High, and just b/c she was born in the middle of a Victoria naming trend didn't change my mind.

Well I think of it as a very masculine name, especially in light of NE Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady.

And I think of the Brady Bunch!

Makes a great last name but as a first name it's nms.

I don't mind the name, but it does seem trendy right now. One reason it bothers me, though, is because I'm a neonatal nurse and "brady" is a term we use quite often for bradycardia, a slowing of the heart rate. We even had a little boy in our unit recently named Brady (with a twin sister named Kaitlyn) and we thought it was unlucky to call him by his name, so we'd call him Brad or Brody or by his mn, Christopher, lol. But he did have quite a few bradys, so maybe it was a bad omen. (Edited to say: I'm just kidding about that, lol)

But if the baby isn't premature, then most people wouldn't run into the medical term "brady" a whole lot, so it's kind of a moot point, I guess. :b

This is one "surnamey, trendy and modern type" name that I actually do like! It does tend to make me think of The Brady Bunch, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest, it's a classic show! So yeah, I like the name.

I find it very trendy (along with Brody, Braden, etc.) too surname-y, and I don't care for it. I don't let associations bother me.

my nephew's name!

I don't think it's trendy at all, my nephew is the only one that I know of! If I didn't have a nephew Brady I would have wanted to use it myself!

I like the name Brady. I don't connect it with the Brady bunch, and I don't think many people will anymore.

I love the name Brady. I don't care if a name is trendy, or surname-y or what have you, if it sounds nice to my ears, I like it.
