Let's weigh the namesakes...On Calvin's side, there's an incredibly witty, quotable six year old with a stuffed tiger, along with various religious leaders.Kelvan has a race of people in some part of Andromeda on a Star Trek roleplaying game, along with missing a temperature measurement by one letter. (http://atrek.org/kelvan/kelvan.htm)Calvin wins out for me, sorry.Array

Lol. I agree with that, plus...Kelvan isn't even pronounced the same as Calvin.EDIT: + pronunciation issue

Depends on where you're from, I think...As a Midwesterner, Kelvin and Calvin are both KEL-vin. Calvin should be CAL-vin (with the A as in attic), but most of the time, I'm much too lazy to be bothered to say it that way. :)Array

True, but in my accent KEL and KAL are two distinct sounds. Similar, yes, but very distinct nonetheless.

Isn't "kelvin" a unit of heat in chemistry? (It's been quite a few years now so I could be off-base with this.) Even if it isn't, I'd keep to the standard spelling or headaches for the child will result.
