[Opinions] Alexenia
What do you think of the name Alexenia? I found it on a list of Titanic passengers; it belonged to Mrs. Lily Alexenia Potter. (http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/biography.php/potter_lily_alexenia_236.html)While I don't know that I would use it, the name stuck out as infinitely more interesting than Alexandra or Alexia. Also, how do you feel about Clair as a middle name for a boy? It was the middle name of my great-grandfather, and I think it sounds rather neat. (I also like Clare, for either sex.) What might go nicely with it? I was thinking Marcel Clair (too French?)--nothing else off the top of my head grabs me.Array

Alexenia is made up, unpronouncable and not even very pretty! And P.S., Alexia is a brain disorder that leaves the patient unable to read (and yes, it's different from dyslexia!). I LOVE Alexandra. Have you considered Alexa, Alexandria/Alexandrea, Alexandrine or Alexandrina? I think that Clair is an awful name for a boy. Everyone already knows it as a girl's name.

Alexenia is interesting but I prefer Alexina.

Alexenia just looks creative and trendy, as if someone were trying to think of a different Alex- girl name. I much prefer Alexandra, Alexis, Alexia, and Alexa.I would prefer the Clare name as a nickname for Clarence, even though I don't care for it.

Alexenia's interesting, and I like the fact that it can have a true etymological meaning for it: Greek alexein "to defend, to help" combined with Greek "hospitality" (see Xenia) or xenos "stranger, foreigner" (see Xenon).Still, Alexenia looks a bit messy and hard to pronounce to me. Alexina's similar, and a little less "complicated" looking and sounding... except it doesn't, of course, have Alexenia's interesting meaning.

Her name was Lily Potter, then? That's cool. Alexenia's pretty cool too, but nmsaa.I think Clair would make a nice boy name. I don't care for Marcel Clair though, it doesn't really sound right to me for some reason. Sorry, can't come up with any other first names though.

Yet another mutation of Alexander/Alexandra - names I can't stand in any form.Although Clair might be a valid boys name it's mostly used for girls, and therefore I would never use it for a boy. However Clare/Claire make fine girls names.
